In light of the cost of greed crisis, I recommend that you download digital tracks to support the artists, because if you lose your internet connection, or the streaming platform decides to take it down, often unfairly, then you still have what you paid for, and support the independent artist directly to ensure they eat this week.

Imagine a world where all the musicians gave up, because they didn't get paid... Let that sink in. These streaming platforms need to realise that music is NOT about the money. It's bigger than that. It's a global community of people who are vibrant and bring joy to every single occasion. It's art, it's very valuable, and if you monetise that and don't pay them appropriately then they will just stop using your platform Spotify.

This is why I cancelled my Spotify premium subscription, and had to give up doing Musixmatch lyrics curation. Because all the work I have done for the last 4 years has been voluntary to keep my brain functioning, and I've seen the pain, suffering and huge transfer of wealth to the platform owners and every other man and his dog, before the artist and creator of music got paid. The payment system is the wrong way up. You will soon be begging for real music when you realise that AI has no music to steal to make your bot playlists.

Respect the creator and music owner, and just remember how many you have doing your free promotion for you using your 'tools' to do all the work, while your sit back and laugh as you make it more impossible for them to get paid, earning more in a day than they will in a thousand lifetimes.

I thank God for my patience not to lose my mind over this, because it's disgraceful, shady and greedy behaviour. The world is watching to see if you react. In the meantime I suggest you cancel your Spotify subscription to send a clear message if you agree.
